We have adopted a cat spider. Glen catches flies and throws it on the spider web. The kids love to watch the cat spider drop down and spin it's newest victim in webbing for later consumption.
We visited the Pennsilvania Grande Canyon
These are pics of Rock City.
I get excited when i see these signs. :)
So I have to say, one time i didn't bring my camera with me in the car, was the one time I saw a bear! I saw this big blob crossing the road. I slowed as I got closer and then I just pulled over to the shoulder and me and the kids just watched the bear. I was so exciting. The bear was pulling meat off of road kill (poor deer). We just stayed there for several minutes...like 15 and watched the bear. The kids got really excited when it stood up on its hind legs. It was a smaller bear, about as tall as Glen when it stood up. It was so cool to be so close to it (but safe in the car)...well, except for when i got out to dump chips on the road in the hopes it would come closer. I know I known, i'll never do that again, I got an ear full from Wendy.
I also thought it was such a magical moment when the bear gazed into my eyes....from just across the road!. It was like our souls were communicating! i know, i'm being a bit cheesy. i was just so excited to witness the bear in its wild setting instead of in a cage at a zoo or just a quick glimpse running across the road when i was riding my bike a few years back (in washington). anyway, its a moment i'll cherish forever.
