Maternity Pics

This first picture is my absolute favorite! My sister-in-law, Elizabeth took these great pics and I love them! I think I was around 7 1/2 to 8 months pregnant.
I have her Lily Photography link on my side bar. If you have time, you should check out her newborn pics that she's done.

Birthday pics

This post is way over due! Here is Ginger's 3 year pictures and Jacks One Year pictures. I actually had these done right after Christmas, but it just took me a while to take the time to edit them to how I like. My friend Nelli took a bunch of pics of the kids. There are lots of cute ones, but I haven't edited them yet. These two layouts were done by Nelli. I just changed the lighting a little. I love having a side profile of thier little faces!

Who do you think you are?

Check out this video. My dad shared this with me and I thought it was pretty neat so I wanted to spread the word.Photobucket

Happy Valentines Day

Just want to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day. I'm thinking of all my family that is far away. Mom, Dad, Holly and Greg, Wendy Dustin and Max, Zach, Hunter and little Heidi. I'm also thinking of my friends and feeling grateful to have such good people around me...and of course my own little family which I adore and am getting so excited to meeting the newest member of our family here in three weeks!
and oh, by the way, I changed my mind once again about the name for our baby. hahahahh THIS TIME I think I've got it and I also am thinking of keeping it to myself..maybe i'll have a better chance at staying decided. hahahahah

Bringing home the dinner!

Glen went fishing this morning and caught one fish, but it was a big one. It's the biggest he's ever caught so he was pretty excited and had me take a million pictures of it. :)
It's about 18 inches long. He's used to reeling in 8" or 9" inch trout, so you can see how he would be so excited about a fish twice the size!
Here he is holding his trophy fish! I'm proud of him for bringing home the dinna!

I'm back into baking

I love Dilly Bread. It reminds me of my grandma. I finally found a recipe for it and am excited it turned out really tasty. I just don't like how short the loaf it. I want to make a normal size loaf of it.
My next new recipe I wanted to try was Lemon Meringue Pie. I got this recipe and the Dilly bread one from a cook book my grandma gave me 10 years ago and I had never used it till this week! This pie is the best tasting pie I had ever had!! It was sooooo good! I'm proud of myself for making. New recipes are a little intimidating to me but so satisfying when it turns out and the hubby likes it. :)
We were a little impatient and didn't let it set up in the fridge long enough. Next time, we'll let it set up overnight so it doesn't run off the crust.
My Husband is pretty happy and VERY supportive of my interest in trying out new recipes. :)

Here's a product I recommend!

Thankyou Rachel Berry for including me on your bulk order to get these lids! I love them and now I wish I had a few more.
I finally went to Alberstons Bakery and they happened to have two buckets that day that I could have. These lids just snapped right on.
I love how the outer ring snaps on and then you can just twist the lid part off so easily! Way better than breaking my nails (which are already short) and fighting with the lid that comes with the buckest. It's a nice way to store flour and sugar. These lids are air tight.
If you are interested in getting these lids, just google Gamma Seal Lids. There are several sites to order from.

My latest projects

Ginger is doing well becoming more independant, but I thought she could use a little more encouragement from other than myself. Instead of me reminding her of her daily responsibilities, I thought it would be nice for a chart to do that...especially after I have the baby. So far, Ginger is excited about her chart and anxious to earn stickers. I have already seen a big improvement in her. It is so nice to have her start the day on her own without me telling her to make her bed, go potty and get dressed.
Here is another project I did. I got this idea from my sister Wendy. I made a clock that I can adjust the time to. Then I hung up a real clock next to it. When the clocks match time, then Ginger knows that nap/quiet time is over and she can come out of her room. This will ensure that I can get a full 2 hour break or nap time myself!
The last project was making these cookies! My mom sent me some cookie paddles for my bosch and I love them!!! My little sunbeam mixer was just not strong enough to mix the dough all the way and it would often start to make a burning smell. Now with my bosch, I quickly mixed up four batches of cookies and then (again, an idea from Wendy the Great) I made up several rolls of cookie dough, wrapped them in parchement paper and ziplocks for storing in the freezer. NOW we are ready for the baby to come. I have plenty of cookie dough stored up. :) (Last year I made freezer dinners, this year, it's cookie dough!) hah hah Gotta keep the hubby happy!
