I had an ear ache which turned into...

Losing my hearing in my right ear!

It's kind of funny to me. I used to always wish that I was hard of hearing or could turn my hearing off and on as I pleased. ..like...when I don't want to hear someone chewing like a cow or when I want to take a nap and want it quiet or when I don't want to hear the neighbors music. I've always had really good hearing..sometimes too good

So, Last monday (before Christmas) I had an ear ache. I thought I might be getting an ear infection. Then, Tuesday night we were watching a movie on the computer and when Glen turned the volume up, my ears really hurt, so I turned it back down. THEN, 4 am the following morning, I had loud ringing in my right ear and sometimes in my left ear. I also had really bad virtigo and could no longer hear out of my right ear. I would just about fall down when I would wake up to nurse Jack. Wednesday morning I went to the doctor and he said my ear drum was bent ..like it needed to be popped and so he prescribed sudafed. I took sudafed for a few days. I no longer have virtigo, but I'm still deaf in one ear and get chimes or ringing off and on. It's been a week now and I'm wondering what's going on. Has this ever happened to you?
Glen gave me a blessing last night and said that I would be healed, but not in a way I would expect. What does that mean? I guess I'll have to wait and see.
I'm hoping to see the ear specialist next week.
Last night I started thinking about what would happen if I lost my hearing permanetly in both ears. I would never hear Ginger's sweet little voice again or how she talks so cutely. I wouldn't be able to just call my sister up and talk on the phone. I wouldn't hear Jack when he cries to be nursed or hear the voices of my other loved ones ever again. That is so hard for me to imagine how much my life would change if I lost my hearing completely. Already, with one ear deaf, I get thrown off by sounds. It's a weird feeling. I guess sometimes you have to have something taken away before you realize how much you really need it or appreciate it.

Ginger's big bed

My Aunt Linda happened across this bed and grabbed it for me. She got it for free. My uncle fixed it up and my aunt made some sheets for it and my mom made the top colorful blanket.
Thankyou Linda and Joe! Perfect timing. And thanks to my parents for bringing it down to us. Ginger loves her bed!

Baby Blessing

This is what I had Jack wear for his blessing. I think his little shoes are so cute!
Glen's brother Mark, and brother in law, Troy and my dad stood in the circle with the Bishop. Glen's dad was too sick to be at church. :(

Christmas with Family

My parents drove down for Christmas! It was so fun to have them here. Like always, time just flew by and now they're gone. :( We took them sledding and had fun just hanging out playing games and eating treats from our stocking.
Whenever my dad would blow his nose, Ginger would point and say "Elphant! Elphant!" hahahahh
We miss them. :( Thanks for coming mom and dad!

Christmas Party

This past saturday we invited friends over for a white elephant gift exchange and for fondue. The two gag gifts were Liquid Plumber and Viagra. We all had a good laugh over that. I think the gifts that was stolen the most was a home made cheese cake and candies from Canada.

We started out by going around the circle taking turns sharing something about ourselves that no one else would know. It was fun learning new things about others. I think the one that sticks out to me was when one guy shared that he'ld done a 360 on the road in his car three different times and survived each one!

Thanks to everyone that came! We really enjoyed having all you over. We sure missed Rachael and her husband though. (Sorry you were sick).

Finally blogging!

Yay for snow! I just hope it doesn't last for months and months like last year.
I thought the above picture looked funny. Ginger looks like a cardboard prop in our yard.

Thanks again mom for sending that coat last year. It fits her perfectly now!
(sorry for not blogging in a long time. I just didn't want to give up my nap time to blog, but now the nights are better with Jack. Last night he slept straight for 4 hours! hurray! Before then he's been waking up every two hours.)

Thankyou Wendy!

My sister, Wendy sent the LeapFrog alphabet teacher to us. Ginger really likes it! Glen hates it though. hahhahha I let her play with it all day and then we turn it off when Glen and Scot come home.

Ginger turned 2!

Ginger's birthday was friday the 12th. I made her a cake (above) and we had a little party for her. We had pizza cake and presents. Then, despite it snowing, we went to the pool and took her swimming. she loves the water. I sat on the benches with jack. There was no way I was getting in a swimsuit or taking Jack in the water.

Drink and wet doll

After talking to my mom about how she got us girls potty trained, I went to walmart and found the Drink and Wet doll. I got the cheapo one. They have up to 50 dollars! They even have a doll that goes #2!

I decided I was ready to be serious about potty training Ginger now that I have two to change diapers for.

So far so good! Ginger goes potty and I give her a sticker for her chart. I first started giving her m&ms to encourage her to want to go. We used the doll the first day and that helped Ginger become aware of when she was going.

She knows to go if she isn't wearing any bottoms, but if she wears a pull-up, I have to tell her to go.

The funny thing is that she went potty on her own...but it was in the dolly's potty chair, not hers! haahhah of course it spilled over, but I couldn't get upset with her since she really did go..in a potty chair.
