Homemade Backgrounds!

This is what I have been playing around with when the kids are sleeping. I'm really liking this digital stuff. I am getting better at using photoshop and just love it!!!! now that I figured out how to make my own backgrounds for blogs, I've run into a problem. I'm hoping one of you..maybe Kaela?? can help me. I uploaded my background to photobucket as 1 megabyte and then when I paste the code into my blog html code, the background is too small. I really don't want to pay photobucket to upgrade my downloads, but is that my only option? Please help. If you any of you can answer my question, I will design a header and background for you as a bribe (though, I guess if you know the answer you probably know how to do your own backgrounds and headers. hahaha)

I love washable crayons

Since getting this desk for Ging, I thought it would be fun to put crayons in her desk and some paper so she can color without having me get the supplies. I found these washable crayons at Walfart. She's not really the type to color all over stuff, but I didn't want to take the chance in case she decided to go through a coloring rampage stage.

I was glad to see her use her crayons. This morning it was all quiet in her room and I thought she was still sleeping, but I found her sitting at her little desk coloring quietly while Jack still slept. so cute. love my little girl!

There is always something. . .

So Jack developed a cough last week and it started making him wease. It wasn't sounding any better after a few days so I decided to bring him in to see the doctor. They took his oxygen levels and said they looked okay but they wanted to see if it would improve after this breathing medicine. So we used it at the office and the doctor told me it would be good to use it until his cough is gone. Every four hours I'm supposed to give this breathing med. to Jack to help open up his lungs and help him breath better until this cough goes away. Hopefully it will be gone soon. I would hate to have to pack it all the way to oklahoma.

What we do for our kids!

Glen found this swingset in Pendelton for 45 bucks. It's pretty sturdy. I just saw a dinky one at Walmart for 140 so I think we got a super deal. It has some rusty spots here and there, but we're pretty happy with it.
After we put the kids to bed, we decided it would be fun to set it up and have Ginger find it in the morning. We ended up having to wear our headlamps to set it up. That when Glen laughed and said "ah, the things we do for our kids hahahhh".

Ginger was delighted! She loves to swing and she absolutely loves slides!

Jack seems to like the swing too! This baby swing was 5 bucks (brand new) again on Craigs list! The owners kept it in their storage unit and never got around to using it.

Thanks to my sister introducing bubbles to Ginger (while in texas). She loves to blow bubbles. She will often get a running start and then blow the bubble. It's funny to watch.

Thanks mom and dad for the kiddy pool. It was finally nice enough to use it! I love how it folds up so nice and compact.
The water was pretty cold. I was surprised that Ginger still wanted to go in and play. She loved it!

Jack and I stayed on the porch to watch Ginger play.

Jack is so fun. We love watching Ginger make him laugh. He is starting to make "da da" sounds. I love his little voice. I'm glad it sounds sweet instead of scratchy and obnoxious.
Jack is eating solids now and doing pretty good except for this cough he just developed. It kept him up last night...poor baby.

Our House

The concrete work is all done. Now we are ready to build (inbetween the paying jobs). Oh the day when we have our own space!

Gingi's kitchen

Ginger loves to act out going shopping and cooking in her kitchen. we got this kitchen for 10 bucks too! It makes cooking sounds and boiling sounds. well.. kitchen sounds. hahh

I just love this table and chair. The owner said they had it made for them. so cute!

Here is a Dora play house. It is so cute too! We got it for 10 bucks. it opens up and talks in english and spanish. Ginger has really been enjoying it.

We got this food set still in the package. It's so funny what people get and never use and then end up selling for way cheap. We got all this from the same lady. Her family is moving and needing to down size. We also got a cute kitchenett for ginger to cook on.

W.W.U.S.S.

We ran into Edward the vampire!

On The ferry over to Seattle, my mom and I paired up and my dad and Glen paired up to take a survery. The W.W.U.S.S. Western Washington Umbrella Society Survey. This all came about because of a discussion Glen and I had on the long road trip up to Bremerton. Glen thought that most people in washington don't use an umbrella and I disagreed, so after talking to my parents about it, we all decided it would be fun to do a survey and see who was actually right.

We walkend down the isles with our paper in hand asking people if they used an umbrella. Some didn't even own an umbrella and a few said that their umbrellas were stolen and a couple (women) kept mini umbrellas in a ziplock in their purse at all times. The fun part was when people asked if this was a "for real survey" and we would say "Yes, and if you want to join and be a WWUSS (wus) too there is a joining fee of $5.00" hahahh no, we didn't take anyone's money and we ended up explaining that this was all for a bet. Well, Glen won the bet. 35 people said they do use an umbrella and 72 people said they don't. and more women use an umbrella than men do.

It was a little embarrasing getting this picture with so many people walking by, but we got a lot of laughs from it.

Don't I look like such the tourist! My mom and both loved this sign. "Shop here and get Free Chocolate!" They must be desperate for business.

A while ago we saw on the travel channel a special on restaurants and the Crab Pot was on there. They made it looks so fun and good to go, so we went. What a rip off! They dump a bunch of seafood in hte middle of the table and by the time you crack teh crab open all the other fish is cold and chewy. Fun environment but that's it! I'm glad we could experience it for ourselves, but we'll never go back!

Sipping Chocolate!

We got to leave the kids and go on a double date with my friend from childhood and her hubby. We enjoyed the game, nachos and catching up.

My mom introduced to me "Sipping Chocolate". It is so good! You only need a few ounces to satisfy the chocolate crave. I was raised to love chocolate. Growing up my mom used to sneak to our bedroom door and ever so carefully crack it open just enough so she could throw a mini chocolate "fun size" bar at our head. She knew she could get away with it when it hurt because we would complain that it hurt and in the same sentence say "thanks mom!" ...such good memories! hahaahh

Mothers Day Weekend

For Mothers day, we went to see my grandma and have a nice turkey lunch with her at her nursing home. Ginger loved to say hi and charm all the residents. Seeing how they just light up to Ginger makes me want to take her to the nursing homes back at home.

My mom and I went to the Victoriam Tea Room while Glen took Ginger with him to visit his friend, Grant. We love this place and come here almost everytime we get together. It's become a tradition for my sisters and mom to come here together. They have the best sandwhiches and desserts.

THey also have a gift shop that is always fun to look at but too expensive. They have all kinds of trinkets, home decor, cards, etc.

Bremerton Visit

We went up to visit my parents for Mother's day weekend. While there we went to EverGreen park to let Ginger play and feed the seagulls. We just loved all the colorful flowers. I think the ones on the left (rhodadendrins ?) are my favorite and favorite color!

We went to our favorite bakery. McGavin's which is famous for their Pink Chamagne Cakes. They are light and fluffy and so good!
