Bella Swan!

okay so I had to post this! I went to Stephanie Meyer's website to see when her movie was coming out. I was excited to see which actress they chose to be Bella. I was sad to not see who was going to be Edward or Jacob though. Right now I'm almost done reading Eclipse..the last book!!!??? It's soo good!!! (Kaela, have you started reading Eclipse yet??)

It snowed again!

It was snowing from when I got outa bed till about 4ish pm! I was so excited to have so much snow! We got Ginger all bundled up in the coat gramma faye sent and we put our wool socks over her little leggies. We walked down the road to the park and were surprised that no one else had been there yet. We built a huge snowman! It was so fun to just plop down in the snow. We're so used to rain rain rain and slushy snow from where we moved from. I think we're really enjoying the winter here.

Snow doesn't stop these guys!

It snowed alot yesturday. This is a picture taken from our apartment.

It was fun to show Ginger the snow. Last time it snowed, she was a newborn and didn't know the difference. I love it when it snows. It's so peaceful. It makes me want to stay indoors and bake cookies.

Despite the freezing cold and snow, the guys have not slowed down a bit!

It's exciting to see the walls go up. I can really feel now how big the house is actually going to be.

Straight ahead is the bedroom with the bay window. Glen and I will stay in that room. His brother will have the master bedroom and Ginger will get the 3rd room across from ours.

The newest member to our Family!

So this is what I've been working on since last wednesday. Ginger's first birthday is coming up and I wanted to sew her a doll. My mom sewed us dolls when we were little and I wanted to continue the tradition. I was hesitant on whether I should really attack this project. I've only done the Kwik sew patterns. This pattern was a McCalls' pattern. (A little more advansed).

It was so fun learning how to put the hair on. I loved seeing how my fabric,stuffing and yarn was coming together to form a real live DOLL! Her face was easy. I just ironed it on the fabric.

This was definately a learning experience. I know to never use the fabric I used to make the apron again. That stuff was such a pain. It frayed really bad. I only got it because it was a $1.00 a yard. (now I know why!) The apron is actually supposed to be twice as long. hahhahah oh well. I don't think Ginger will notice the difference.

Our Thanksgiving

We really enjoyed Thanksgiving. We had it at Glen's parents house.

Everyone brought a dish and we had plenty! Lots of left overs. Scot (Glen's brother) started working in the kitchen at 6am! He did the Turkey and ham which turned out soo good and tender! All the food was great.

It was fun to have everyone together. Elizabeth's sister, Angela and her family came, along with Dale's brother and his family. It was so fun to them there!

Grandma and Grandpa Chandler sitting in the kitchen having fun feeding Ginger. I think they enjoyed their little quiet time together before joining the rest of us for dinner.

After dinner, we set up for games. We played "BUNGO". I had never heard of it before. It was so fun and so easy learn. We set up three tables. Four people per table which made up two teams per table. Each table has six dice, two note pads and two pencils. The game consists of rounds. In the first round, once the bell is rang, a player from each table takes all the dice and rolls for "ones". Meanwhile, their partner counts up the "ones". They keep rolling the dice until they don't get any "ones". Then they pass the dice to the left and the player of the other team tries for "ones". It keeps going round and round until someone gets 21 "ones" rolled. When that happens, they yell "Bungo". The winners of each table move up a table and the losers of each table move back a table. Then next round starts and then everyone is rolling for 21 "two's". It's a fast, easy and really fun game for a group of 12 or more! The winner in the end gets a prize.

Update on Our House!

The Guys are working fast and in the freezing cold.
The least I can do for them right now is bring out hot chocolate and
the big safeway cookies.

Daddy Reading to Baby

It started out sweet. Glen sat Ginger on his lap and starting reading a story and then he read her some poems. We've had these books from the library too long. We're getting sick of reading the same story and stupid poems over and over, so we like to make it up. When glen got to the poems, he started making fun of the poems and saying, "stupid poem, doesn't even ryhme". It was so funny. He was supposed to be reading these sleepy time poems in a sweet soft voice, but they turned into Glen getting all loud and critiquing the poems and making fun of them and using a rough voice. Really, I don't understand these poems. For example:

"Grandfa Grig
had a pig
in a field of clover
piggy died
Grandfa cried
and all the fun was over"

So was this written back in the day when "Grandfa" had pet pigs and when times were tough, he killed the pig to eat it so he was sad? I wonder how some of these poems made it to the publishers. ahhahhaha

Holiday Gift Idea-MOOSE MUNCH

I just had to share this with you. If you haven't tried this stuff, you should! They sell it at Costco during the holidays. It's a mix of carmel popcorn and chocolate covered carmel popcorn with nuts. So GOOD!!! Look up Harry and David on the internet and see their other yummy treats and gift baskets. We just love this stuff!

House Project-Week 2

Today the concrete slab for the garage got poured! We're so thankful the weather has held out so we could pour concrete. It could snow tomorrow night. We'll rent blankets to cover the slab until the concrete is completely dry.

Foundation is in!

Looking for a long lasting lipstick?

Try Max Factor! I love this lipstick! I put it on once and it stays on the rest of the day! It's Max Factor. I used to have to re-apply lipgloss or lipstick several times a day..especially after eating. But this stuff is different. It only comes off if you eat greasy food like pizza. You first apply the color and then the gloss so your lips don't feel dry. I love it!

Visit to Washington

My older sister, Wendy came to Washington from Texas so I went up to visit too. We always love going to the Victorian Tea Room for lunch. We love their soup, sandwhich, dessert meal.

While there, we went to see my Grandma. She is 94 . She used to live in Chehalis until my mom moved her closer to her home to take care of her.

The church bookstore is closing at the end of November. We decided to get these two paintings (25%off) for our Christmas gifts to eachother. I love these paintings!

Super Saturday

We had super saturday at the church. I learned how to make tile -looking pictures. It was so nice of Gail and Dave to share their talent with us. I just thought this was the neatest thing! I took a calendar picture and cut it up (Dave cut it for me) and glued it to a board with raised tile shapes. I painted the sides with blue and pearl paint to give it a marble look. Then I spread a proxy solution over it and babysat it until it settled most of the way and got all the bubbles out. Then I stuck a frame on it to dry onto the picture. Here's the end result!

I just love how it turned out! I can't wait to make another!!!

I love this make-up!!!

Thanks to Kaela's recommendation, I went to Costco and got the Bare Minerals Make-up kit. At first I thought it was a rip off when I saw how small the powder holder was. But then I realized this kit would probably last me a year considering the tiny tiny amount neeeded just to cover your face. I love this make-up!!! The powder goes on so smoothly!! I love how easily it evens out my skin tones. You got to try this. It seems expensive, but it will last a long long time!! Bare Escentuals at Sephora

Ground Breaking News!

The day has finally arrived! We broke ground on our property Nov. 1st! Hip Hip Hurray!

Hopefully the weather will stay nice enough to pour concrete for our foundation. Our main goal was to get the concrete work done before it got too frosty and cold out.

Here are the very first (of many more to come) pictures of our project in action!

It is so exciting to finally be at this point. After spending months and months looking for property, and then working forever on the house plans and running around getting permits and all that jazz, ...we're here!
