A great idea!

We got this stepping stool out to change a light bulb and while the kids were playing on it, Glen got the great idea to build a slide to hook onto it. So in the afternoon, he whipped one up!  The kids love it!!  I like it because it's easy to unhook it and store under the bed or in a closet.

He also made this rocking toy too.

the kids are too!

okay, I can't believe I'm putting this on here, but it's only to be fair so Glen can't get mad at me for only posting his silly dance.

Christmas Day

Kids were up at 6:45am.
Glen surprised me with a piano bench he made!  I love it!
The kids were excited to see that Santa came, though they were more into their presents than reading his letters right away.  :)

Jack's face lit up when he saw the tunnel.
The Crayola lite brite thing is so fun!  We've been playing with it just before bed times.  WE like taking different glasses to shine the light through and see the different patterns we can make.

Here is the Chandler Clan.  We went back to Shari and Dales for Christmas dinner in the evening.
(Kristi, Troy, Shari, Dale, Scot (glen's older brother) Taylor(kristi's daughter), Jasper(Kristi's son), Rachel, Ethan, Collin and Kate (are Mark and Liz kids), Liz, and Mark ( I just noticed Kristi and Troy are on there twice) oh well!
We are a group of 20 all together!  The amazing thing is that on Christmas Eve when we were all together, no one got hurt when the 7 inch diameter ceramic plate cover to the open beam ceiling fan decided to fall from the ceiling fan and gouge the piano and shatter into a million pieces!  It made a big crashing sound and luckily we all decided to grab snacks at the same time!  I'm just glad it didn't fall when we were all singing around the piano!

Christmas Eve

We made trains, sang songs, ate treats and enjoyed eachothers company.  (in the pic below) Scot is holding Liz's new baby...well, I guess he's almost three months now.  Collin Dale.
Here is Glen's cute dad singing for us.  I'm glad he did that. He was kind of put on the spot but he was a good sport about it and we all loved it!

Santa's letter

We're all set for the morning. This is what the kids will wake up to. We're excited! Thanks dad for doing the letters! It makes it that much more special!

Here's the bike Glen got from Craig's list. I think Ginger is going to love this! Glen agreed afterall to give the "credit" to Santa for this one. hahahah

Hand Made Christmas presents

Here's the finished product of the puzzles! I'm excited with how they turned out. It was fun and now we can actually put the puzzle together within a timely manner! hahah
Here is the rattle Glen made for Gretchen today. Isn't that just adorable. It holds alot of meaning to us. Glen loves to fish so what better than to make his baby a Fish rattle!
Here is a newer cooler boat that Glen whipped up today at the shop. JAck got pretty attatched to the other boat so we'll let him keep it. We're going to give this other one to his cousin. It has a couple moving parts on it too and Glen made a cargo area with moveable blocks.
I'm so impressed with the things Glen is whipping up at the shop. Handmade toys is turning into a tradition I think!

thanks mom and dad

These matching pajamas are soooo cute!!

Here is what I'm working on. these are the two puzzles Glen made. he cut all the pieces before I could draw a picture on them so we had a heck of time putting the puzzle together! now that it's together, I drew a pony on each of them. I think one turned out a little better than the other. It was tricking to draw since the pieces of the puzzle shift alot. I printed that pink pony off from the internet for reference. I can't draw stuff right out of my head. I always have to look at something. Anyway, I'm now going to start painting it. this has turned out to be a fun project for me too!

The best I can do

I really can beat Glen's home made wooden toys. this is the best i can do. I got this idea thanks to Ali! it's true, this is great and so simple. It kept Jack busy for a very LONG time. He just loved putting the pipe cleaners in the bottle and taking them out over and over and over! so funny. Thanks Ali for the great idea!

Glen's new hobby

Glen has been busy in santas toy shop making toys for all the good little boys and girls!
Glen brought this stack-em toy home today that he made just this afternoon and Jack loves it! It's actually for his little neice for Christmas who is the same age as Jack, so I think it will be perfect for her.
He also made this cutting board for his sister. It's hard to give it away. It's so nice! I want to keep it for myself!
Jack and Ginger also loved this little boat which is for their other cousin.
I have to say, I'm very proud of Glen for stepping out of his bounds of building homes and going into Toy making. It's very fun to see what he'll come up with. he's been google searching Wooden toys for ideas.
