Wiped out!

The hospital was very accomidating except for the broken fold out couch for Glen. The first night in the hospital was exhausting. Glen woke up to every little sound Ginger made. The next night was better for him because he quickly learned that you just can panick over every little noise from the baby.
When Ginger is fussy while I change her, all she needs is Daddy's hands on her to calm her down. She calms down immediatley.

Family Visit

Wendy, Dad, Holly and my Mom came to see Ginger.
Glen was such a good support to me. I am so glad he was there with me the whole time.

My younger sister Holly made a quick visit before continuing with her wedding plans. She had just three days left before her wedding day.

My sister Wendy flew up from Texas to help me with the baby.

Our Bundle Of Joy!

Papa Dave holding Ginger for the first time. Look at all that dark hair! She looked just like she did in my dream. To my surprise I had a dream that she had dark hair. Before that, I figured she would have light/blonde hair.

I can't get over how cute she is. I just love holding her. I start to miss her if she sleeps longer than 2 hours. I love being her mommy. Seeing her makes me smile every time.
As soon as the doctor put her on my chest, she started sucking her thumb. How cute! The doctor said, "Well, we know what she's been doing for that past nine months!". After what the lactation nurse told me, I was against using a pacifier. That quickly changed after the first night home. I was up all hours of the night feeding her. Finally at 9am, I remebered how she sucked her thumb right after delivery and thought that maybe it would be a good idea to try out the pacifier. What a difference! Our second night home was so much better! I actually got some sleep and she didn't cry nearly as much as she did the first night.

Baby Ginger

Baby Ginger Rose Chandler. 20" long, 7lbs 14 oz. Born at 7:51pm Tuesday, Dec. 12th.

Glen and I made a second bet since we were wrong on our first bets. I guessed she would be born at 5pm and Glen guessed 8pm. Glen was just off by nine minutes.

Love Sewing!

This is my second sewing project. My mom bought me a sewing machine for my birthday. She helped me learn how to sew a fleece sleeper. After that, I was hooked. I've been wanting a carebear diaper bag and haven't found any anywhere except homemade ones on e-bay. I decided to tackle a diaper bag pattern to sew. To my surprise, it was pretty easy and I did it with little help from my mom. I worked on it for hours trying to finish it before Ginger was born. My timing was perfect! Ginger was born two days after I finished! I think sewing has come easy for me because it's alot like what I do with sheetmetal. At work I get patterns and directions to make things out of sheetmetal. I think I am taking a liking to sewing better than I did with sheetmetal. :)

Our One Year Anniversary

We went to Victoria to celebrate our anniversary

Canada

We drove up coast and stayed at the Best Western Austrian Chalet. We went for a morning stroll along this path that was made for joggers and cyclist. It went for miles along the water.
Here I am 8 month pregnant.

We stayed at Hemmingway's B&B the first night in Victoria. The Host was so polite. She was a lady from Germany with a heavy accent. She made us a good breakfast and then we were on our way.

Bouchard Gardens

We went to Bouchard Gardens. It's amazing to see all the different plants and flowers.
I couldn't believe how many different kinds of roses there were. Everything was so perfect.

Our first Camping trip

Glen already had his camping gear, he's the expert. We went out and got gear for me. We were excited to go on our first hiking/camping adventure together.
It was so fun to just come home from work, pack up and go. I love being able to just carry everything on our backs, go up hiking and set up camp. I always hoped to find someone that would want to do that. I feel so lucky that my sister set Glen and I up. We've had so much fun together. We both love the outdoors and doing various activities.

campsite cooking

It was fun setting up camp, getting the fire going and roasting marshmellows.
The weather was perfect! We corn on the cob, potatoes and sausage for dinner.

Royal Caribbean

Going on a cruise was a perfect vacation. You can be as lazy and relaxed or busy and active as you want. They even have a kid friendly area where parents can drop off their kids and go do their own thing.

Cruise Food

We were so impressed with the food displays. Everything was so neatly carved.
This was one of my favorites! Chocolate. We could eat as much as we wanted. Unfortantely, I had morning sickness and could only stand to eat a few strawberries... they came back up later that night :( Glen gained 5 pounds and I lost 2 pounds during the cruise. They had so much good food but bread rolls were the only thing I could keep down.

Cruise 2006

Everyone was assigned a table to have dinner at with the same group of people. We enjoyed getting to know all the couples at our table.
These are the underwater scooters we rode. You just stick your head in the bubble window and ride it like a scooter. We went down 8 feet. This was called the B.O.B. excursion. I was a little nervous that my scooter would tip over and allow water to enter the bubble window. This was at St. Maartin

Mariner of the Seas

This was our room. It was small but we had plenty of storage area for all our belongings. We had a small TV, Fridge and safe.
Everyday the maids would clean our rooms and leave on our bed towels folded up like animals. We started calling them Tanimals. This was a night we had to dress up for dinner.

Coca Cay Island

In May we went on a 7 day cruise. Our favorite place was Coco Cay Island. It's an island privately owned by Royal Caribbean.
We went on a jet ski excursion and then relaxed the rest of the day.

Fish Bowl Contest

Glen and I thought it would be fun to have a fish bowl contest. We gave each of our friends a glass bowl and told them they had to create an edible aquarium. They were only allowed to spend up to $10.00 and if they used anything like toothpicks, glue etc, then it would count against them during the judging. The clown fish bowl created by Luke was the winner.
Glen and I wanted to build our fish instead of use candy fish so we took a lemon, some candy orange slices and a couple M&Ms and voila, we had our fish. The color bled off the m&ms, so it didn't look so good a the end.
Participants of the contest: Glen, Summer, Brant, Nadine, Greg, Holly and Luke
After the judging of the fish bowl, we sat and watched JAWS and ate our fish bowls.

My First Sewing Machine

My mom gave me a sewing machine for my 26th birthday. Every monday, my sister Holly and I would go to my mom's for a sewing lesson.

5 months Pregnant!

Here I am at 5 months pregnant. I thought I was big at the time but now that I'm 38 weeks pregnant I look back and think that I was barely showing.

Deep Sea Bottom Fishing

We rode the waves out for about two hours. The weather was perfect. I was excited to wear my new green boots.
Mom stayed out the longest. We had some big waves splash over us. I started to feel sick so I went inside to try and sleep.

In June my parents went with Glen and I on a deep sea fishing trip out at West Port. Glen has gone fishing before, but my parents and I hadn't so we were excited to go on this fun adventure.

River Rafting on the Salmon River

Rafting with my parents was so much fun!
I layed out glow sticks to light the path to the groover (poddy) station. One night, my sister wanted to go poddy but she was afraid there was an animal in the woods. My mom told her to go on ahead and that it was probably just a dear. The next night we saw a bobcat and it's prints all around our campsite. Poor sis. hahahaha
Our friends, Nadine, Brant, Greg and my sister Holly rafting with us.
We got the best campsite. It was hidden from the road right along the river. This is our kitchen area. Every evening we would get a sand storm so we had to weigh things down with big rocks. Glen and I woke up before everyone else to start breakfast. It was a little chilly in the mornings but would quickly heat up.
Me, Glen, Greg, Holly, Nadine and Brant. This was the morning we had to say goodbye. After they left, Glen and I took my parents down the river. We had our super soakers and got into water fights with other boats. It was a blast. We acted like pirates and hid our guns until the last moment and then we would reveal our water weapons and scare the other boats away.
