Growing belly

When my older sister was pregnant with her first, she got a side shot picture of her every four weeks up until she had her baby. Then she put all the pictures in a row kind of like a film strip at the bottom of her scrap book page with a chart of her weight gain above it. It was so fun to see her belly grow. I loved the idea and tried to do that when I was pregnant with Ginger, but got lazy about getting my photo taken. So this time, I'm going to try and be more diligent. Many people have asked me if I show yet, so Yes, I think I do! :)
ps. this is my new bathing suit from good ol' Walmart. :)

Ginger's new flip flops!

When Glen and I started dating, he convinced me to try flip flops. I never liked them much because the thing between your toe. He told me that in no time I would get used to it, so I tried it out and now I love them. From flip flops, I graduated to chacos which I love! We are excited for the warm weather so we can wear our chacos and flip flops.
I thought it was time to get Ginger some little flip flops of her own!
I just thought these were so cute! Ginger seems to like these. I wondered how she would be with the thing between her toes, but so far she walks pretty good in them and they don't seem to bother her.

What would I do without Marielu!

I love Marielu cookies! My mom used to get them when I was younger. I haven't had them for a while and eversince I got pregnant, I've been looking for them. They are perfect! They aren't too sweet and not too .....unsweet. They're like between a cookie and a cracker. I think they are perfect especially when you have morning sickness. Anyway, so I've been craving these and I haven't been able to find them anywhere!! I thought to myself, oh no. I wonder if MarieLu recieved the same fate that Postum did earlier this year.

So I searched on the internet and didn't find them, so I called my mom and told her my fear was that they took them off the market.

Well, to my pleasant surprise, my mom found them and sent them to me today!! I was so excited. It's made my day. I love MarieLu!
Thanks mom!!

Our House!!

So we've been busy! Last week Shari watched Ginger for me so I could come help out at the house. Glen put me right to work. He had me paint, calk, install light fixtures and run back and forth to walmart buying lightbulbs. I really enjoyed being there and feeling like part of the "crew". It brought back some nostalgie from when I used to work at the shipyard. I love hands on work and working with others.

They are coming out with better and better light bulbs. We got the energy efficient ones. They used to just have those swirly looking bulbs, but now they have different shapes and they look alot nicer. I found one to go in our exterior light pictured above. It's supposed to look more like a candle shape.
This is our bathroom. I love this tile! Depending on the lighting, the tile and walls can look purply or pinky. I love smooth shiny tile. It will be so easy to mop!
This is our kitchen, dining and entry way tile. We got it for super cheap and we love how it goes with the wall color. It's so exciting to see the floors go in!! We hope to be moving in a month or so!! hurray! no more screaming kids right outside my door, no more community washer and dryers, no more steep steps to carry GInger and groceries up, no more borrowing things because our stuff is in storage; no more sink that is too dang small to wash dishes in; no more cramped kitchen; no more booming base movie going guy from below keeping us up at night! I so can't wait to move!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite snack lately

Popcorn with spray butter and johny seasoning salt ..yum!!!

Ginger loves to read

Lately Ginger has been occupied with her books. Her favorite one is "Good night Thumper". My mom sent it to her for Easter. As soon as Ginger wakes up, she goes and gets her book. As soon as we come home, she goes straight for her books. It's so cute. She will sit there and read her little books outloud. Sometimes she likes to walk around and read them. They keep her distracted from long periods of time.
I'm surprised at how long she is happy to just sit there looking at her books.

Riverside and loose dogs!!

Something we enjoy doing is meeting at Riverside for lunch. There are signs posted to keep dogs on leashes, however everyone doesn't obey that. so I have a little rant to make here.
A few times now, we've come to the park and got all set up on a blanket with our food out only to have some dog run through our little picnic and tromp on our blanket and shake its fleas on our food. It's really getting annoying. For one, I don't know how the dog is going to be around Ginger, so I feel the need to snatch her up right away, ...it just is an unwelcome visit each time and what makes me mad is that the owner is usually across the field casually walking along doing nothing about their dog. One of the dogs actually bit a guys hand that wasn't far from us, so we packed up and left. I think I'm going to start bringing pepperspray. Does anyone else have this problem?

Ginger in a bowl

I just thought this was cute. Ginger sitting in my mixing bowl.
We went to our favorite resaurant in La Grande to get an ice cream. Ginger got her first ice cream cone. They call it a 'puppy'. It was just her size. She did real good not getting it everywhere. Glen got a butterscotch sundae. soooo good ! better than dairy queen!

Kristi, me, Scot, Mark and Glen painted our whole house in just 5 hours! Shari watched Ginger for me so I could help paint.
It was fun to be out there with everyone and the weather was perfect!! not too hot or too cold!
At first we weren't too sure about the color but now we love it!

Easy Yummy Scalloped Potatoes!

I figured it was my turn to post a good recipe since I haven't for a while. I made the other day and Glen and his brother about ate the whole pan just in one sitting! sorry I don't have a picture.

all you need is peeled sliced potatoes...enough for an 9 by 14 pan.

in a bowl mix two cans of creme of mushroom soup, a couple big blobs of sour creme ( I never measure but I think its about a cup in a half to two cups) and then a big blog of mayonaise (about 1 cup) and chopped up ham. Then I sprinkle some seasoning salt, garlic salt and parsely and mix it up. I layer the potatoes and mixture and bake it at 350 for 45 minutes. right when I take it out, I sprinkle cheese on top and let it melt. that's all!
