Our House

So the guys are making good progress on our house. I'm very excited/relieved to know we won't have to share this one.

One more day and they'll be done roofing. They still have a few windows left to install and some doors. NExt will be the sofit and siding and then painting the exterior. Once that's done then they'll start the inside framing etc. It's going pretty fast now, but it will have to slow down so they can work on a paying job. I'm just glad it's already to this point!

Bennett Reunion

Check out this first picture! IT's my favorite. I love how you see my dad and his cousin engadged in a water fight and then here is Glen sneaking up on the cousin ready to dump a bucket of water on his head! And then there is my two nephews, Max and Zach getting in on it too!
If I learned one thing from this reunion, it's that the Bennetts love water fights, water activities and love to just have fun and joke around.
Here is my dad with all his first cousins. It was so neat to finally meet all these people.

Saturday was the eventful day. WE had breakfast together then a picnic and kayaking and waterfight and then a nice dinner and program in the evening. My second cousin, Andrew, played the guitar for us. He is really good! He plays for special events and is coming out with a cd. I also enjoyed getting to know Liz, another second cousin to me. SHe was really good with Ginger and GInger took a liking to her real quick. overall, it was all very fun and a very neat experience. Everyone was so nice and made us all feel like we fit right in.

Talk about Coincidence!

I had to post this one! Talk about a coincidence!! So here's the story!
This is my sister's childhood friend from YEARS ago! HEr friend, Whitney moved away long ago and we never saw her since.
A few months ago, I decided I would search for her on facebook and to our delight, I found her! Anway,

so, two weeks ago, we're flying to Oklahoma City to attend a reunion and at our trasfer flight in Salt Lake, I run into Whitney and her dad at the airport! Whitney was just getting home from South Africa and we were headed to our next flight! Can you believe it Holly!? hahaha

Father's Day

This is what I made for my dad on Father's day. It's a little scrapbook about him..things he taught me or my fun memories of growing up with him as my dad.
This is a sample of how I did the pages.
This whole idea came about when I told Glen that I felt like I wanted to write down my childhood memories before I forget them and then Glen told me I should write them down and tell my parents about them. So then this is what it turned out to be.
I presented this to my dad at the family reunion and read some of my favorites to everyone could get to know "THe REal Dave Bennett". hahah :)
I just wanted to tac on this photo because I love it when I see JAck and Ginger playing NICELY together..(.not that Jack knows how to play mean. hahha)

Stock Show

We went to see the stock show. We missed it last year, but I'm glad we got to go this year. It's always fun to sit up on the stage and watch people endanger their lives by seeing how long they can last on a bucking horse or bull. just kidding. It is pretty exciting though. My favorite is the barrel racing.

We went to the Pendelton round-up the year before and decided it was better to stick to the small town rodeo. You get a better seat and can see everything going on without using banockulairs..(wow! I'm forgetting how to spell!)
I just love this picture of JAck!! so cute!

Lions and Tigers and Bears! oh my!

Lots of things have been going on so maybe now I'll finally catch you all up on what we've been up to.

We had the chance to go to the circus and it was great! We were really glad to only pay for one ticket too because otherwise we wouldn't have gone!

They lions bears and elephants. All the acts were really good!! WE were impressed for what we got to see in our smaller town.
During intermission they let all the kids come down and ride elephants, mini horses or get their picture taken next to the big black bear. (for a fee of course) We let Ginger ride the horsy and she did really good. I thought she would cry, but she didn't.

Easy and good!

One of the many things Glen has introduced to me is Boc Choy! We love to chop it up along with Keilbasa, pinapple, onion, and cilantro and throw it in a pot till it's nice and hot. Then we serve it over rice. I think it's good just like that, but sometimes we add a special stir fry sauce on it. YUM! very quick and easy.

Our little window of opportunity!

The guys just finished up a remodel job and don't start their next job for another week and a half, so ambitous Glen and his brothers are doing all they can to get the most done on our house during this little break between jobs.
They are moving along pretty quickly. Glen hopes they can get the walls up and trusses on with sheeting before the next job starts.
This is what the sill plate looks like. They pour the concrete foundation and footing and then put a layer of foam pad as a vapor barrier between the treated wood (which is the sill plate). This is what keeps the house from blowing away. They nail the walls to the sill plate which is screwed onto the concrete footing. This all might be boring for you, but I think it's interesting and helps me understand what I'm drawing when making up the house plans.

Jack Attack

The hospital sent me a cd with Jack's x-rays on it. I thought that was so nice. I didn't think they would actually do it or remember to do it.
So here is Jack's little baby x-ray. isn't it so cute!
They said everything looked really good. and, by the way, he is doing much better. He's pretty much over the weasing and coughing now.

Molly Mormon

I curled Ginger's hair for the first time. After I curled her bangs, the first thought that came to me was "Such a Molly Mormon!" hahha
so cute! Ginger looks so different to me having her hair curled.

Ginger's future best girlfriend (according to us moms)

Ginger's little friend, Christian came over last saturday. She and Ginger play so well together (way better than the first time...Ginger was very territorial a few months back). Glen and I had fun watching them interact with eachother. I think they are just a few months apart in age. It's nice that Christian lives within walking distance from us.
They had fun swinging, blowing bubbles, playing in the pool and eating ice-cream cones with magic shell! :)

I gave them bathes after playing outside and then did their hair and nails. THey really liked that.
