Jack's 1st birthday

We celebrated Jack's first birthday! On the kid's birthdays, we like to have pizza,  a specially decorated cake by mom & ice cream, presents and then take them swimming.
Everthing went really well that evening. I was happy that my carebear cousin cake turned out good and that we had the whole pool to ourselves!

Ginger was excited to help Jack open his presents and "help" him play with them. hahahah

It took a little time but he soon dove into his cake.

Celebrating with Seafood!

Our Final home Inspection passed this week so we went to the Seafood Buffet that night with friends and no kids!
We feel like we can now breathe a sigh of relief having that done and over with! Now we can get home owners insurance!
The buffet had good food, but it got cold quick. Then again, it takes me forever to crack those crab legs.

Potty Training...for REALS!

You know how "they" say you shouldn't potty train your kid when you're about to move or have a baby because they'll regress? Well, after some seasoned moms told me that the best thing to do is to let your kid decide when they are ready to use the potty, I dropped the issue with Ginger.
To my pleasant surprise, two weeks ago, (right during the process of packing up and moving our stuff over here) Ginger out of the blue says, "Oh, I have to go potty!". At the time, I didn't get my hopes up because she's had days here and there where she wants to use the toilet and then the next day she's too lazy to stop playing and do it.
Well, it's been two weeks now and I'm happy to say she is wearing her little tinkerbell undies during the day and now out when we run errands too! She still wears pull-ups at night and she isn't completely comfortable going #2 on the potty, so I keep a close eye on her. I really don't want to have her go poo in her undies.

The funny thing is, her little friend Christian is potty training now too. She started a few weeks earlier than Ginger. The first time Christian came over since we moved here, Ginger was all excited and wanting to show off her new toilet training skills. It was so funny.
I'm just really glad that this day has finally come and that I could put the training toilet away and just have her use the normal one. Washing that thing out was getting old!

We moved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Photobucket

We moved and are now sleeping in our own house. It's so wonderful to have our own space and feel like we're our own family and not feel like someone is constantly critiqueing your every move or eaves dropping on our conversations!  I haven't felt so relaxed and at ease for a year and half!  It's been an adjustment, but a good one.  I'm so used to feeling on edge or guarded all the time.  Never again will I share a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...not for a year and a half anyway.

i'll post some pics up later.

Can't believe i'm already 6 months!

We found out a couple weeks ago..well, more like a month and a half ago that we're having a girl!  I had a feeling that we were...after all I was really sick with Ginger, then kind of sick with Jack and then really sick again, so that gave it away to me.
We were settled on a name, but now we aren't.  We welcome any ideas you have!!

I listed some names that we've talked about on the side bar.
We thought of Hazel Faye but now we think it sounds like a plant or tea ...like a remedie the doctor would tell you to use when you're sick. ahhahah  I still like Ruby June but Glen isn't so sure.
Right now we both like Lindy.  That is such a cute name!!  (good choise Carrissa!!)
We also like Kaela and Lacey.  Decisions Decisions!

Happy halloween!

Well, I didn't have time to make our costumes this year, but i'm happy to say that our costumes cost a dollar each! ( I got them last year).
Jack barely fit in his pumpkin one. Ginger was a spider, I was a witch, and Glen was a chic or shic..not sure how to spell it.
We went to a fun halloween party (no kids). Games, food and good company made it a fun night! You got to love the homer simpson guy. hahahhah and of course Edward!

Here is one of my favorite costume ideas. Octo-mom! hahahahh I thought that was soooo funny!
