Something we enjoy doing is meeting at Riverside for lunch. There are signs posted to keep dogs on leashes, however everyone doesn't obey that. so I have a little rant to make here.
A few times now, we've come to the park and got all set up on a blanket with our food out only to have some dog run through our little picnic and tromp on our blanket and shake its fleas on our food. It's really getting annoying. For one, I don't know how the dog is going to be around Ginger, so I feel the need to snatch her up right away, ...it just is an unwelcome visit each time and what makes me mad is that the owner is usually across the field casually walking along doing nothing about their dog. One of the dogs actually bit a guys hand that wasn't far from us, so we packed up and left. I think I'm going to start bringing pepperspray. Does anyone else have this problem?

Eew. That WOULD bug! If it's a city ordinance, can't you call the cops and get them in trouble??
Humm...that's crummy. I get so tired of people being rude and thoughtless. I'd call the city about it. Probably won't do any good but if more people would do that they might eventually listen and act. Ya feel like ya have to have a fence around you at the park to maintain your little space. I just don't get it. I know there are lots of good people but sometimes the rude ones seem more prevalent. :(

♡ I would be completely irriated with that too! We don't go to riverside because it freaks me out! I don't feel like I can keep a close enough eye on all the kids and there are so many little hiding places!
I would have gathered up my kids too if a dog came running to us! I don't trust dogs at all though!!!
I would bring the pepperspray and use it next time a dog ran up to me on my blanket. Same incident happened at the park with the kids. A big dog ran right through the sandpit full of kids and I didn't know if he was going for one particular kid or just running around. It was enough to scare a couple of little ones and leave them in tears.
Rude is right! Scary!! Way to go scooping her up. That guy should keep his dog to himself and figure something out (a leash or cage?) so that his dog can't harass innocent park goers:( You never know what any particular dog might do.
Yeah, that's dumb. I would just kick the dog in the head, or into the water! HAha! That's not very nice. I would be worried about the dog getting Ginger too. That's looks like a nice place to go otherwise. Is it very far from your home? Next time I visit we should go there for a picnic! I'll protect you from those mean dogs!
Reading your post got me all worked up.This is one of my biggest "pet peeves". One of my kids is allergic to dogs and it makes me so mad that people assume that my kids are going to want to pet their ugly, stinky, drolly, dogs just because they tell me that their dog is friendly and loves kids.
The other thing that drives me nuts is people not picking up after their dogs. We live next door to a park and I have been known to give them a bag for their dogs mess because "I am sure you forgot to bring your own and I would hate for you to have to walk/drive all the way home just for a bag". I don't leave my kids messy diapers all over the park so why should they. Okay, enough said...for now....
